Mirror Mirror on the Wall: 10 Ways to Style Your Home with Mirrors

Mirrors are used to check ourselves out, to make sure our outfit is pulled together, and our hair is in place. Any room could use a mirror, even if it's just for decoration purposes; They're apart of our decor and can add a polished look.

Naturally, every house will have mirrors in the bathroom. There's no getting around that. It's the most obvious place where one is required. But what other ways can mirrors be used to style other rooms in your home?

1. The perfect place to stash a mirror is in the entryway. Not only will it reflect the light coming from outside as you enter inside; It will give you one last "looksy" at yourself as you're heading out.

2. Mirrors aren't only used for checking yourself out; They work well as decorative art too. Use a collection of small mirrors, whether square like those in the picture above or another shape to create a cohesive pattern.

3. Take a trip to your local flea market, thrift store, or even go to a yard sale to collect a variety of different picture frames. Adding a collection of different shapes, colors, and sizes will add some character to your walls. This can be emulated in any room of course, but it especially looks great like over the sofa above. The variety of mirrors instantly make this side of the room a focal point.

4. Create a gallery wall like the photo above and choose an eclectic mix of frames to add some interests. The vintage and antique pieces will add some much needed charm.

5. Staircases are always tricky. The walls can look like a blank canvas in need of something special. Usually people will hang family portraits or art work. Why not hang a beautiful mirror? I especially love when floor length mirrors (like the one below) is placed at the top of stairs or on a wall going up the stairs -- with enough wall space of course-- because it reflects the steps which give them a grander look.

6. Add a full length mirror to any room and it will make the room feel brighter and bigger, even when it's in a random place like the photo above.

7. I especially love this one leaning on the wall of the dining room. It adds a bit of drama to an already glamorous setup.

8. Your home office has to be a comfortable and functional space that will inspire you to do great work. There's nothing better than having a stylish office to work in, especially if you work from home everyday. A mirror could be just the touch of style your work space needs.

9. Add something unexpected to your kitchen, like custom-made mirror cabinets. Not only will it add some glamour and curiosity from guests, you'll also add some dimension to the room and once again make it feel lighter and brighter.

10. When we go to the gym, there are mirrors everywhere. Don't forget to add them if you have a designated room in your home where you get in shape --if you haven't already. Give yourself a reminder of how hard you're working by taking a glance in the mirror when you're doing those squats. ;)

What other ways have you incorporated mirrors into your space?
