Wearing White After Labor Day: Why You Can Do it Too!

How many times have we heard--"Never wear white after Labor Day"? Just in case you've been out of the loop, that myth has long gone seasons ago. Luckily for you and I, we no longer have to push our white clothes to the back of our closets or pack them up and move to another room for much needed space.

Keep reading to see how many ways you can wear white after Labor Day and still look just as fresh as Olivia does to the right. --->

We're about 2 days shy from going to BBQs, laying out at the park, or spending money at all the stores advertising sales. While doing so, take that white shirt or white jeans you bought at the beginning of Summer, and put them to good use; Or give yourself an excuse to buy something new (That's the perfect option.)

Here's how you can still wear white long after Summer:

1. White Tops: White tops, especially one like the classic cut below always look fresh and clean. You can pair a similar style with white jeans or dark denim to keep it stylish. Add a pair of funky heels with some color to make it interesting.

Not feeling an all white top? Choose one that's paired with a color, like the blouse below.

BCBG Gisella Long Sleeve Wrap Top - $158

Would you expect to wear this cropped sweater in the middle of Spring or Summer? Of course not, you'd burn up! Fall is the perfect time to wear it.

Throw a white cardigan over one of your favorite screen tees and pair it with your favorite cropped pants or denim jeans; You can even snag one of your favorite skirts to wear with it to work.

2. Accessorize with white: Jewelry, handbags, and scarves will add the finishing touch you need for your wardrobe.

3. White Bottoms: Jeans or pants in white can be paired with black or any other color that will make the white stand out; Or just go for a white on white look and add a colored blazer to add some balance.

4. Blanc Dresses: White gives a hint of elegance and simplicity. A dress in white can give you this same feel year round. Pair it with a solid colored clutch or choose one with a beautiful print.

Shirtdress - $179.95

5. Stand out from the crowd: Most people aren't going to reach for white after Monday, so choosing this color will help separate you from the rest. If you're feeling extra daring, use your white to make a statement with a look like this skirt-pant combination below.

6. White Outerwear: For those cool mornings and cool evenings, get a white blazer or jacket to break the breeze. You will still look stylish, especially if paired with the right bottoms.

What are your go-to looks after Labor Day? Do you continue to include white?
